7/16/2023 0 Comments The elder scrolls online greymoor![]() Your adventures in Greymoor don’t just stretch across the frozen wastes of Eastern Skyrim, but also beneath it. Which won’t be easy as in addition to unraveling the mysteries of the witches’ plan, you have to convince High King Svargrim of Western Skyrim that the threat is real and not a Pact plot for his throne. Acting alongside returning companion Lyris Titanborn as an envoy for the High King of Eastern Skyrim, your mission is to assess and confront the Coven. Their invasion begins in Western Skyrim, which has long been politically sundered from it’s eastern half. Using magical rituals called Harrowstorms, and aided by a mysterious vampiric benefactor, the witches have begun a campaign of terror intended to break Skyrim once and for all. The Icereach Coven, a band of witches and barbarians long a thorn in Skyrim’s side, have resumed their war with the Nords. Set against the backdrop of the ongoing Three Banners War, The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor sees Skyrim facing a new threat. Granted, until I try it for myself it’s hard to say for sure, but based on the announcement this tastes a bit too much like nostalgia bait than I’d have preferred.Honestly, no one should ever travel to Skyrim via cart. They’ve even reskinned dark anchors once again, this time calling them harrowstorms, for open-world PvE group events like the geysers in Summerset and (admittedly much more dynamic) dragon fights in Elsweyr. The content release cadence has been reliable and rich with things to do, but the game feels long overdue for a big shake up of some kind. And seeing the gorgeous, neon depths of Blackreach in ESO with other players definitely seems magical.ĭespite how great this all looks and sounds, it feels like more of the same with a different coat of paint. ![]() Solitude was one of my favorite locations in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and I love how iconic the province capital’s silhouette is of its structures perched atop a precarious cliff at sea. Personally this has me extremely excited. Notably the key “recognizable” locations being added with Greymoor are Solitude, Morthal, Labyrinthian, Dragon Bridge, and the Blackreach cavern. Skyrim's capital city, Solitude, as it will appear in ESO. On top of all the narrative juiciness of Greymoor will also introduce a brand new Antiquities system, which involves collecting rare artifacts spread across all of Tamriel a bit like Indiana Jones, a massive new 12-player Trial called Kyne’s Aegis, new delves, new public dungeons, and new side quests, as well as the free quality of life updates and Vampire Skill line overhaul that are coming to all players. An ancient vampire lord leading a terrifying army of vampires, witches, and werewolves, have twisted a once idyllic land into a dark and sinister one. With the vampire menace threatening Tamriel with a ruthlessness unlike anything players have faced to date, they’ll be forced to work together to quell the Harrowstorms terrorizing the land. Set more than 900 years before the events of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Western Skyrim isn’t exactly how players may remember it. Vampirism already exists in a limited capacity in Elder Scrolls Online, as do werewolves, but just as vampires were a major part of Skyrim via its Dawnguard DLC, Greymoor is focusing on them for this Skyrim-focused expansion.Īccording to a press release provided to me prior to the event under embargo, Greymoor’s story sounds decidedly creepy: This time around we’re battling vampires. Adventurers battling in a dangerous Harrowstorm DLC dungeon.
